Havven (rebranded as Synthetix) is a decentralised payment network and stablecoin designed to enable everyday cryptocurrency purchases. The service is designed to overcome the volatility of cryptocurrency to enable it to be used more widely in the market. 

The Challenge:

Blockchain and cryptocurrency are both incredibly technical and difficult to explain in a simple and understandable way. These kinds of emerging tech offerings are forging a completely new category, making it more difficult to relate such complex ideas to the wider audience without too much technical jargon. Due to the thousands of Initial Coin Offering (ICO) projects on the market at the time of launch, it was also a challenge to differentiate the offering from the competition and gain and attract the attention of global retail and institutional investors.

The Forestlyn Approach:

Complex technology offerings like Havven require marketing experts who understand the tech space to be able to formulate a tailored strategy. We conducted a deep dive into Havven’s business model and simplified their messaging to enable effective communication with target audience groups. Forestlyn then coordinated the full implementation of the marketing strategy by through event organisation, building community groups, making website improvements, curating blog posts, assisting pitch desks, and engaging with crypto and blockchain influencers. The combination of Forestlyn marketing strategy and implementation services resulted in the exponential growth of Havven, becoming Australia’s largest ICO and the most successful crypto project  to date. 


The Solution:

As a collaborative marketing partner, Forestlyn was able to drive Havven’s go-to-market plan with effective strategy formation and implementation. Here’s what we did and the results we achieved:

  • Repurposed Havven’s tagline to convey the core purpose of the company in a simple and easily understood message from “distributed monetary system” to “decentralised payments network”.

  • Repositioned website content and messaging to relate to specific target audience groups. Found out where the audience was and directly communicated with them. 

  • Advertised and promoted a referral program in which referrals were incentivised for referring friends.

  • Integral in raising USD$30 million / AUD$39 million for Australia’s largest Initial Coin Offering (ICO) to date.

  • Built one of crypto’s largest Telegram community groups of 127,000+ members.

  • Organised the Havven launch event, attended by more than 400 participants.

  • Improved visitation to Havven’s website, which saw more than 1 million visits in a 2-month period.

  • Listened to feedback and expectations of the community through Telegram channels, Reddit, and other social media channels to provide new information, blogs, video, and other content to generate excitement around Havven’s product launch.
